About Addiction Recovery Ministry (A.R.M.)

Addicion Recovery Ministry was founded in 2011 by K Karacsony who has more than 20 years of Christian ministerial experience teaching and pastoring. He has ministered to many people who have struggled to overcome sinful choices, like addiction, and has witnessed people overcome sin by the tranforming power of Jesus Christ.

Who We Are

Addiction Recovery Ministry is a non-denominational Christian organization dedicated to providing Biblical information for Christians struggling with the sin of addiction. Additionally, we offer Biblical resources to church ministers, pastors, and leaders who are looking for a Christ-centered approach to overcoming addiction apart from psychology and programs. A.R.M. is committed to educate, train, and equip the Christian man or woman through the truth of God's Word so that he or she may be thoroughly equipped for every good work:

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16

What We Believe

At A.R.M., we believe that addiction is a sinful choice and not a disease. It is means of coping with stress and life-challenges that are often a natural part of everyday life. Because addiction is a choice, recovering from addiction is also a personal decision that must be made by everyone struggling to overcome this sin. We also believe that full recovery is possible and we completely reject the notion that it is a life-long struggle because this view is contrary to the evidence, common sense, the Bible, and the gospel message.

We also firmly believe that human beings are made in the image of God and are therefore rational, thinking, moral beings. Human beings are not animals controlled by impulse, genetics, or their environment. Rather, we have the inherent ability to exercise discipline and self-control in our lives by living according to the Spirit.

As a Christian organization, we are founded on Biblical principles and believe firmly in the transformative power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We recognize that those who have committed their life to serving Jesus Christ are new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17) and no longer a slaves to sin (Romans 6:6). God has given His children the necessary tools to live a life that is both holy and pleasing:

His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
2 Peter 1:3

Why We Are Different

No Steps....

A.R.M. is not based on 12-Step methodology. We do not recommend or offer mandatory recovery meetings, steps, or accountability partners ("sponsors"). While we acknowledge that some people believe that these things are important, we believe that they are not required for successful recovery. Unlike 12 Step philosophy, we belive that people can control their life and their actions and do not need to rely on "the group" to maintain sobriety. We do not teach that addiction is a life-long disease, which most 12 Step programs claim, because this view is patently false and terribly discouraging. Rather, we teach the truth that most people who struggle with addiction recover without following mandatory "steps."

No Counseling....

A.R.M. is not based on secular principles of psychology. Therefore, we do not offer "counseling" or recovery therapy. While we recognize that some people believe these things are helpful, we do not believe that psychology is the answer to addiction because it is a moral problem that requires a moral solution. Therefore, we offer Biblical education and information to help people experience complete freedom from drug and alcohol dependence. We also offer hope and encouragement for those who do not want to commit their lives to treatments, programs, and psychiatric counseling.

Mission Statement

Educate. Train. Equip.

We believe that in order to deal with addiction effectively, education and training are absolutely essential. That is why the principle mission of A.R.M. is to educate and train Christians about addiction and to equip those who are struggling to overcome addiction with the necessary tools to be effective. We are also committed to educating church leaders and ministers about addiction so they are properly equipped to help those who come to them for help.

Core Values

At A.R.M., we believe in the following values:

TRUTH: We are committed to teaching the truth about addiction because the truth has the power to liberate captives from the bondage of addiction (John 8:32).

HONESTY: We are committed to speaking honestly about addiction even if the message is not popular or politically correct (proverbs 24:26).

REASON: We believe in a calm, reasoned approach to addiction recovery (Isaiah 1:18).

TRANSFORMATION: We value transformation, not just information, as the basis of a successful recovery and believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ is transformative (2 Corinthians 5:17).

REVELATION: We believe that the Bible is God's revealed truth and useful for teaching, training, and equipping (2 Timothy 3:16). We also believe that God reveals truth through science, reason, and knowledge.
